The Peniel Children’s Home has been operating for 14 years and serves as a children’s orphanage, kindergarten school and non-denominational church. Currently, 54 children ages 1 month –18 years old live in the building. These children have suffered from parental abandonment, abuse, violence, divorce and extreme poverty. All children must attend pre-school through high school classes and we are proud to worker in the kitchensay that a few are in college. The kiddos participate in various group activities with volunteers and teachers that help promote their general welfare such as school, bible study, sports, music, drawing, computers and English. Children receive praise for good behavior and school performance.

Husband and wife team pastors Octavianoand Susana Sarmiento live year round at the orphanage. Additional staff includes a registered nurse, cooks, psychologists, social workers and teachers. Several women from the community volunteer their time in order to care for the children and oversee that they learn responsibilities of cleaning their rooms and bathrooms, as well as do their homework and daily chores. Additional staff volunteers help with the daily routine and serve as substitute parents.

Children in Sunday school

All 54 orphans + 120 local children attend Saturday Bible study classes.

Every effort is made to return the children to their own family or a substitute family as soon as conditions are right.

One responsibilities consist of preparing these children physically, emotionally,Children gather outside before lunch and spiritually for the time when they will leave the orphanage to attend the local university or start working.

We believe in the restoration, development and the individuality of each child. The staff works very hard to ensure the children eat balanced meals, have clothes, clean and dry shelter, adequate health care and a well-rounded education. Children are provided hugs, kisses and love as this is reflected in their smiles and happy dispositions.

God has always provided for the orphanage as He is true and faithful, but the local donations children at summer campare inconsistent and we often lack the basics. Argentina suffers from the 2001 economic crisis and today we have a terrible annual inflation rate of 20%. People just can’t afford to help!

These children have already suffered so much in their lives. They have the right to sleep in clean beds, eat balanced meals, go to school, freedom to play and receive parental love.

We need your commitment as a monthly sponsor. There is no minimum or maximum; whatever you feel comfortable with will directly be spent on the children and no administration costs are charged. Many adults in Batan, Argentina are unemployed, and those fortunate enough to have work are often not paid enough to feed their family. These factors cause hopeless parents to leave their babies on our doorstep. The orphanage is already at maximum capacity.

SPECIAL PROJECT REQUEST

The orphanage needs your international financial gift. For 2007, our goal is to raise $30,000 Dollars. This money will provide for 40additional orphaned children. We will purchase building materials to build bedrooms, bathrooms, beds and furniture.
We do all of the building labor ourselves, as this is an important future job skill for the boys.

Construction has already been started, as we do all of the work ourselves in order to teach the older boys a valuable job skill.

As Christians, we believe there is no price too high to save a child. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14) Please consider what you can do to help these disadvantage children who are growing up in a Christian environment.
